I like the 'reasonable' line here. A reasonable person, no matter the religion or circumstances, would try to save his own life, would want to live.
Did you catch what this reasonable family man was earning? She was getting 70% of his pay, $290 per week. This fella was making about $1500 a month, darn near the poverty line. Of course she wants the $290 so she can pioneer.

i'd like to formally introduce myself to everyone here,as the title,and my post count reflects...i'm new around here although i think i may have stumbled across the site sometime before i decided to stop going down there at all,because it looks very familiar,i could have sworn i read an article about jw's real involvement in the holocaust on here at some time.

here is the deal, and some of you probably already know my oven conked 2 days ago.
the top works but the interior does not.. i have ordered a spiral ham, i have great bean recipe for stove top, and coleslaw......but i need other side dishes that can be heated or cooked either on the grill or stove top...... i'm desperate.....do you have anything?
i can't bake/broil.

New Red Potatoes-boil them critters, butter and salt, etc. . .
Corn on the cob?. . .everyone likes that.

i am new to this forum having been linked here by a member of the jref forum who was passing on his experiences as an ex-member.
Hi and welcome.
I never dreamt that my parents, with whom I was incredibly close, would choose to obey this man-made cult and shun me completely solely because I told them some of what is wrong with their JW religion--I was a card-carrying member. Partly, I wish that I had handled it all differently, but I know I would only have postponed the situation as it is now and was tired of pretending that I still believed it.
My point is, if you do this, you will lose your friend and eventually your job. The longer you can NOT care about that of which he is a member apart from work, the longer you will have him in your life, and as good friends are truly hard to find, I hope that is for a very long time.
The chance that he will listen to the facts and see it for what it is, is sooooo slim, you will only hurt yourself. And he will simply tread away in self-righteousness, gloating that he squashed Satan's attempt to weaken his faith, and he will never give you another thought. But, you will be crushed.
Be happy with what you have. That's my opinion.
if you mate died suddenly or left you, could you handle life alone?
would you remain single or get married again?
i ask this because my brother in law's witness mom just died recently, and we're wondering how his dad is going to handle life alone now.

.. are jehovahs witnesses being greatly distressed becaused of the pedo's among them or the dead bodies which the blood doctrine makes or the false prohecy's(deception) which eminate from their governingbody?.
historically, when an outcry from god's people reached the true god then, their would be changes and this dosen't appear to be the case with the jehovah's witnesses.
the sad conclusion is that they may not be recognized by the true god or they may not have a problem with the above morally corrupt practic's within their institutions which has been considered as a acceptable risk to the cost of doing business.. ..
